The protexIP/sdk (Software Development Kit) extends the capabilities of the protexIP/development platform and enables your enterprise or software development team to tightly integrate protexIP into your native development processes.
The protexIP/sdk provides an interface into the platform and gives you programmatic access to the powerful software compliance management features of our flagship product line. The SDK also enables Black Duck and its partners to provide off-the-shelf integrated solutions with common development tools and environments like software configuration systems.
The protexIP/sdk can be used to implement a broad set of functions, including:

• Add Black Duck project status to your dashboard
• Automatically create protexIP projects from your Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
• Automatically create user accounts
• Search the protexIP KnowledgeBase for open source and other software components
• Integrate protexIP release review as part of your release signoff process
• Script protexIP code analysis to execute in conjunction with your build process
• Integrate protexIP project approval with your existing release process
• Implement an alternative interface to protexIP license approval
• Retrieve the protexIP Bill of Materials or Code Label
• Generate custom reports

The protexIP/sdk application programming interface (API) is based on open standards including the W3C Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and the Web Services Definition Language (WSDL). These standards are supported by a broad range of development tools on a variety of platforms.
